Many improvements to Respondus 4.0 don’t get much fanfare. We get feature requests from users, they get added to the software, and we move on.
Perhaps we should send out press releases and throw launch parties because many enhancements seem to fall below the radar of even the most avid Respondus 4.0 users.
A good example is the “Question List” that appears at the bottom of the Edit tab (and elsewhere) in Respondus 4.0. Some noticeable enhancements were added to the question list this past year and were even highlighted in a newsletter article. But several smaller improvements made at the same time are often overlooked by users. Here are three of them.
Edit Point Values
In Respondus 4.0, you can change the point value for any question without having to select and edit the individual question. Simply click in the “Points” field for a question and modify the value.
Sort by Column
You may be used to other applications where you can click on a column heading to sort by the values in that row. This is now possible in the Question List. For example, to sort point values from lowest to highest, click the “Points” heading. Click it again to reverse the order. This is also a quick way to sort a file by question type, title, or even question wording.

Expanded View
An “Expanded View” button at the top right of the Question List will display a large version of the question list. You can also do searches from this view.

The next time we make enhancements to Respondus 4.0, we’ll remember to send out press releases and throw a launch party.
Or, maybe not.
