The latest version of Respondus LockDown Browser now includes integrations for Sakai 2.7.1 and higher, for both the SAMigo and Mneme assessment engines.
The integrations are seamless, making them easy to roll out to instructors. When the LockDown Browser module is installed to the Sakai server, instructors see an additional setting for assessments that allows the locked browser requirement to be turned on or off.
When running Respondus LockDown Browser, students are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications during an online test. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until it is submitted for grading.
For institutions that already have a license for Respondus LockDown Browser, you’ll find details for downloading and installing the Sakai modules within the administrator area of the Respondus website. If your institution already uses Respondus LockDown Browser with another LMS, there is no additional cost to use it with Sakai.
“Quick Start Guides” for instructors are available on the Respondus website at http://www.respondus.com/products/ldb-quickstart.shtml.
If your institution doesn’t already license Respondus LockDown Browser, it’s easy to set up a free 2-month pilot. Simply contact your Account Manager or send an email to sales@respondus.com.
